If you want to help them out, you can actually report a specific post by clicking on the little red exclamation point towards the bottom of a given page. I seem to remember this coming up before, and the response was something to the effect of they get to them as quickly as they can. Reporting the posts will help them out. Beyond that, I do agree with you sentiment, as it is definitely annoying to see all the spam-type posts.
