James Garner's TTM autographs were not authentic. All TTM replies were postmarked in New Jersey (the location of his official fan club), but Garner lived in California. Once in a while there would be an authentic TTM reply from him--I remember someone on here sent him a poster and received it back from California with a legitimate signature. James Garner himself usually underlined his signature but the secretary usually neglected to. Also, the real Garner autographs signed within the past few years were always slightly shakey, but the TTM replies were always a fluid signature.

[quote="Will Bozarth"]I'm starting to think that Doris Day's autographs as of late are secretarial. I don't have any solid proof of this, but here's a news article from July that makes the whole operation seem suspicious:

"Day: 'Don't Call Me Doris'

Great article. I have noticed that the first I got in 91 is VERY different from the ones I got in 2000 and 2010.

Joan Fontaine autographs are authentic and match many examples from over the years.

The Jane Fonda I just received matches a friends in person from about a year ago perfectly.

zipbags wrote:I mentioned this in a thread in the feedback section. But, I think secretarials are obnoxious and rude to the fans. Someone takes the time to write to someone. Either send a letter back saying they can't or won't sign. Or make people wait for the star to have time to sign. But, I can think of no legitimate explaination for sending a fraudulent signature.

Secretarials are pointless. At least Ann-Margret has it right, and one of her assistants once returned a photo to me unsigned because Ann-Margret was performing away from home for an extended period and didn't believe in having a secretary fake her signature. Now that's a classy and honest thing to do.

I clicked on this thread because I thought as the title says it would have been a list of celebs that send secreterials (or should I say believed to send secretarials), but there's no actual list.

Like buffysatine above has said, would it be possible for someone to compile a list just to make this thread easier to look at?

I know it'd be a lot of work, but it would also be very much appreciated, and it's just a thought {up}

Hi

Is it at all possible for someone to make an actual list to look at as this thread is quite confusing and hard to find info on someone you are looking for.

Thanks

vespasian wrote:i believe joan fontaine and angela lansbury are authentic.......joan fontaine charges for her autograph?

Joan Fontaine only charges $5.00 if she provides the photo. If you include a photo(s) to be signed she doesn't charge anything. And I believe she always signs authentically, because I have photos of her signed 20 years ago and some signed last year and the signature looks the same.
