I have to disagree about Joan Fontaine. The $5 is only is she provides the photograph. I have no reason to believe the signature that was on the photos she sent back to me are not in her own hand so I don't believe they are secretariel.

However, from what I have seen of Tony Curtis' signature, I would also agree with you said about him. I have looked at IP examples once I sent off my request, and the IP's look more squished usually, but the way the letters are formed are pretty much the same.

If you send Joan Fontaine your own photo with a SASE she will sign it for free.

Thanks for the information, I have been wanting to write to Dick Van Dyke for ages but I heard he sends secretarials. Has anyone had an authentic Julie Andrew's autograph through the mail?

That's also true, just look at feedback received from Cameron Diaz - her TTM is very much secretarial but it still seem to take forever! :?

I'd like to add that "took a while to receive" means absolutely nothing.

Hi bellnorthwood! ;-)

Thank you for your input. {thumb2} I'd just like to add that about Robert Redford, if you send your own photo, you will get it back secretarial signed. {down} So, he does send out both secretarials and preprints. :( Also, Dick Van Dyke's TTM autographs looks very much secretarial, here's a topic about his autographs. Lastly, I think I agree with you on Billy Joel's autographs, I've added him to the secretarial list.

Thanks,
zanne

{up} means I think it's real
{down} means I think it's secretarial or preprint

Phil Collins: Doesn't look like in person examples. Also, I received the photo very quickly. At the time, I'm pretty sure Mr. Collins was on the Genesis reunion tour, so how could he be signing autographs? {down}

Tony Curtis: Looks like in person examples..........also took a while to receive. {up}

Robert Redford: Received a preprinted postcard......not secretarial. {down}

Paul Newman: Doesn't look like in person examples or the signature on the popcorn boxes. The handwriting is also very feminine. Also, I received this right before Mr. Newman's death. Therefore, this one has to be secretarial. {down}

John Travolta: Looks too neat compared to in person examples. Might even be autopenned. {down}

Joan Fontaine: I only received a note stating that Ms. Fontaine charges $5 for a signed photo. {down}

Jerry Lewis: I believe that this one is real as it looks like in person successes and it took a while to receive. {up}

Jane Fonda: This one took about a month to receive. I belive that it is real as it looks like in person examples. Also, I received this a few months before Ms. Fonda started to make movies again. {up}

Clint Eastwood: Preprint {down}

Billy Joel: This one has to be secretarial. I received it very quickly for someone of Mr. Joel's stature. Also, it looks very different from in person examples. {down}

Dick Van Dyke: I think that this one is authentically signed. It took almost a year to receive. It also looks like in person examples. {up}

Donald Trump: I'm unsure about this one. It's a full signature, which apparently is rare with Mr .Trump.....he usually only "scribbles". Howver, it still looks very much like some in person successes. It can't be a preprint as I sent him something to sign. Also, this came in record time.....less than a week! Mr. Trump can't have this much time on his hands with his large business.......or can he? :?

Doris Day: I believe this is secretarial for a few reasons. First, it doesn't look like any earlier TTM successes or in person examples. Second, the return address and postmark were both from Kentucky, while Ms. Day lives in California. Third, it is well known that Ms. Day is VERY reclusive. I don't know if I believe the story about the whole "Clara" alter ego. However, if she doesn't make movies, do interviews, or make public appearances, I'm pretty sure that she isn't answering her fan mail herself. {down}
