Also may I point out that there can even be slight differences in an autopen signature. The pen put into the machine might have been one that maybe was flowing differently than the one that signed the photo.
And I STRESS once again that unless you see Depp sign in person you can't be sure it's authentic, weither it's for a charity or not. Depp is very busy with several projects and like I said he's in Hawaii right now filming Pirates 4.

I would say MAYBE the index is real, BUT he's too busy working on the 4th Pirates movie to be answering any kind of fan mail right not.

Both are definitely autopen. If you look at how an autopen works, if the person operating the machine doesn't hold the item EXACTLY still, you will see the shakes and bumps noted by previous posters. The ink line is too even for it to be real, and the rest of the signature other than the couple "bumps" that were mentioned are exactly the same.

IMO looks exactly like the card on the left above.

I'm sorry but the autopen looks nothing like the one on the card...maybe he did sign it or could be secretarial. But I HIGHLY DOUBT Johnny would do such a thing for a fundraiser for children. I heard he is really nice to his fans. Here is the differences I found....

........Thanks everyone for their comments! I did say it was for charity and wrote the letter on letterhead. I didn't send the picture he sent. There is a chance that the photo is AP but personally i think that the one in the card is real. On the back of the card you can see where the ink went through a little bit.......

BOTH are autopen. The photo sent to you is the one he ALWAYS sends out. Also it doesn't matter if the signature is on an index card, photo, or whatever. An autopen is a machine that holds a sharpie, ball point pen or whatever writing instrument. The item is then placed under the machine and the machine will write out a facsimle autograph. So just because the ink went through the card it doesn't matter.
Depp is also too busy working on the 4th Pirates movie to answer fan mail personally at this time.

I think the card is real. Take it to an analyzer, tell them it's for charity purposes and they may waive the fee... or reduce it..

the photo looks like all his other aps BUT the card on the other hand could be real it looks nothing like the photo tho so I'm thinking real

and for the photo above me I'm not sure on that one I'm dont remember when he started singing out aps but if you sent the photo and got it back then it may be real cuz most the times if u send him a photo you dont get it back or you get it back unsigned with the ap in its place
