How sad. I met her in Des Moines, Iowa last Saturday, Nov 26th. Got to Borders at 6:30 and had my copy signed (in person) by 7:30.
She wasn't personalizing anything though.
Afterwards, she did greet the small crowd and continue to sign memorabilia and personalize the books. Even took photos with us all.
I may not agree with ANY of her beliefs or policies but she was very nice in person. I wish the musicians I met were 1/2 as nice as she is. She even remembered me by name from the time I met her in line to the time we met afterwards.

I wish everybody would return their book with a complaint, and claim the money.

They should once realize, that "signed edition" actually signed by a machine sux! {down} :roll: It is misleading and cheating of customer/reader/fan. It is not what you paid for. Blah

Sorry for everybody who actually bought it.

He said he's "sorry" and that it "is mis-leading", and that the "only way to get an authentic signature is to attend one of the book-signing events or to buy the limited edition, leather-bound signed book". What a jerk!! And what a horrible company!!
What a scumbag. Thanks for calling!

As I said over on my topic... :D .....I think it's ridiculous that the publishers would scam the general public by selling fake autographed books like that. They should have known better. I'm going to be calling HarperCollins Monday and see what I can find out.

If I had been at a store and looked at the actual signature and compared it to others before I bought, I wouldn't have. But, I preordered online and didn't get to look at the signature. I think that these celebs and politicians think that there aren't any hardcore collectors of autographs out there like us and they think people will be happy with preprints and autopens. I'm not! Especially if I'm paying more than I would for a normal copy of the book. I'm disappointed with Sarah Palin and her publishers for trying to scam us like this. I paid for an authentically signed book! At least I get my money back. I should probably stop complaining! ha ha

wlperie wrote:I would be skeptical of any full signature of Sarah Palin. Her current signatures done at book signings are huge; they almost take up the entire page.

There was a bit of an uproar during her "Going Rogue" book tour when her staff would hand out autopenned bookplates to those who had waited upwards of 4 hours for an authentic signature.

These autopenned books have now flooded eBay. This is a huge sham.
It should of been obvious for me since im familiar with her AP siganture.
I guess i was excited and blown off the fact that they would scam me like that. {down}
Same thing happend with mitt romney at a book signing.
