I follow Richard Karn on Twitter and he recently tweeted the second pic; once I saw Tim's sig I noticed it looked different than the one I had, so I figured I'd ask

They just look like a shortened version of the longer one. And they do vary a little bit. I`ve gotten 3 different replies in the past, and my fiances gotten two, and they all seem to be match up if you ask me.

I have also seen in person signatures looking like the shortened versions. What made you ask this question out of curiousity?

I got a success from Tim Allen a while back. Does he sign authentically through the mail? All of the successes I've seen via the Boxing Cat address (including mine) look like this:

However, this is a signed Home Improvement script owned by Richard Karn (who plays Al on the show), and Tim's sig looks different:
