So I took your advice and asked Roger Epperson and this is what he had to say about it:

"It's without question authentic, nothing to worry about at all. I have seen a few of these photos from people who got him on the set, I even have one on my site."

Thank you for recommending that site to me. I'm so happy it turned out to be real! :D

May I ask you what you think makes them forgeries?

I hate to inform you, but Both Dylans you asked about are forgeries. The story he spent to you sounds exactly like many i have heard before. You have to always assume the guy who your buying from on ebay is selling a fake and let the signature do the talking. Dylan is a tough signature to authenticate sometimes, but i am very sure that these are both forgeries. Dylan hates signing autographs and your more libel to get spit on than get an autograph from him. He avoids it at all costs. Of course if you believe the show Pawn Stars, you can find him walking the streets in LA signing graphs for the masses.

I understand that you probably wont believe me, but if you really want to know if your item is authentic, go to autograph magazine live, go to the forum section and post a thread concerning it in the authenticity section. You will get replies from the best in the business. You have roger epperson their, who is regarded as one of if not the best music authenticator in the world among others including many members who authenticate for PSA, JSA, etc. Both bad and good Dylans get posted their all the time and i can assure you its the best place anywhere on the net to ask for very educated opinions on autograph authenticity as far as a forum goes. If i really want to know the truth about my item, good or bad, i go their and ask.

If real, your item would bring at least 800 dollars on the low end, but unfortunately its a forgery. I would see if you could return it, and if he wont accept returns, i would file a claim with paypal. Unfortunately this kinda crap is everywhere in the market. Forgery is a profitable business. Good luck and i hope you get your money back. I strongly encourage you to ask the members over their about the Dylan, regardless of if you take my opinion for anything. I just dont want you to hang onto a bad item and then try and sale it to an auction house or something down the road and they reject it. Or you could always put it up on ebay real quick for an insane amount of money and then submit it to PSA quick opinion. And then just take it down off ebay. I have done this several times. I wish you luck getting a refund.

I saw that the seller accepts returns so I bought it. As you said it looks good, I think it looks good, and he has a credible story. Also I checked out his ebay profile and this is the only signed item/autograph he has ever sold so I don't think he's a faker. If it turns out fake I can always return it for a full refund {up}

Haha, fair enough. Thank you for all your help. Strangely I'm leaning towards the buying side of it!

But the writing, especially on the 'B', match with Dylan's handwriting.

Well if i were you I wouldn't buy anything especially not from Ebay. TONS of stuff are fake and it's Bob Dylan were talking about. the seller seems to have a trustworthy story about this so it seems safe but as I said I wouldn't buy it.

I asked the seller of the second one how he got it and he told me he is a limo driver who drove a journalist (David Castell) around when he came to the Isle of Wight (the autograph is also being sold with poster tickets from isle of Wight festival) and this journalist met Bonn and got a signed photo which he gave to the limo driver as he was into Dylan. I think he's telling the truth as he's gone into a lot of detail. Here is exactly what he told me:

"hello im a limo driver service an i used to drive the journelist around when he spent times on isle of wight his name was david castell an at that point he saw bob dylan at the festival an after festival he went on set of hearts of fire where pic an sign where done as for me getting it as a gift as im in to bob dylan"

What do you think? :)
