I don't know Ray Charles well, but I do know that APs were not as advanced before he died as they are now, and I don't see any obvious signs in the lettering that I'd expect to see in an AP from that era (shaking, start/stop dots, etc). There is, what appears from your photo, to be some shaking on the "dot" of the "I", but I have no problem dismissing that based on how clean the line from the "S" is (an AP from back then would not be able to pull that off so cleanly).
Though I could be wrong, I have no problems saying it's not an AP.
It could still be a Sec or a PP though. Like I said, I'm not well versed in Ray Charles' autograph or signing habits.
