I sent my letters on April 14 and got answers on May 3 (Archie) and July 11 (Brooke). Still waiting on Cook, Jason, Carly and Michael...

Well, I don't know how the Idol staff handled the letters that came in AFTER the winner was announced :? But let's reckon that they did forward them to David and Co. Then it might just be a matter of time till you get your autograph :)
