Ok...so are you asking about sending requests to ANY player and asking if they can send you a signed rookie card of themselves, or are you asking about sending requests to ROOKIES and asking if they can send a signed card of themselves?

Either way, the principle flaw in your plan is the same. You're expecting the player to have something on hand to sign for you. Most players won't have anything on hand, and it's even less likely that they would have a stack of rookie cards laying around to sign.

When collecting sports autos TTM, your best bet is to always send a card to the player for them to sign.

Now, regarding the price of rookies...I don't see where you're coming from. $90??? Unless you're talking about getting some older players rookies, then I don't see where you get that figure.

Now, if you're talking about requests to current rookies, then the same thing holds true. Make sure you send them a card for them to sign. Don't expect them to have a stack of cards on hand to sign.

If you need any help on collecting sports autos TTM, feel free to PM me :D

Rookies are usually really good about signing. I haven't come across very many that don't.

iffy means likely or unlikely. and my personal opinion would be to send a rookie card to a rookie prior to his NFL debut. he will probably be someone that is not highly respected and not a lot of fans yet to jump on the band wagon. but if you wait to mid- to end- of season and he just "goes off" and has an outstanding year, everyone will start sending request after request, and he will be overwhelmed and start sending PP or AP's. Or he could be so stuck on himself and send nothing at all. not saying this happens but its just my opinion.

and if you do send it and dont get it back then it would be a waste. at the start of a season I could see, but as the season progresses the more iffy it becomes. adrian peterson for example, hes become a popular name over night. yea it would be great to get his autograph. but more than likely with his status, he may keep that card and send back an AP or a PP on some worthless card.

No offense, but, I really dont see why you shouldnt send them their rookie card. Its like sending them any card. All it does to a collection is increase its worth.
