Thanks for your post, and great to hear you want to collect for charity {thumb2}

Without wanting to put you off, the problem I think you are going to have is that most celebs/agents will gladly donate for a registered charity, but because you want to collect for a family who is supporting a charity through Missionary work, you are kind of 'once-removed' if you know what I mean? :?

If for example you wanted to collect for the Mission directly then I think you would have a much better chance of success. Of course this would involve more work for you though, as you would have to seek the approval and support of the Mission concerned.

On the other hand if your Church decided to run an official collection programme for the Mission then that would be a different matter, and your fundraising could be directly contributable to that.

Whilst I in no way suggest anything 'suspect' about your endeavour, unfortuantely charity donators (in this case the celebs and agents) tend to be increasingly skeptical about these one-off collections.

I hope this helps!

So the way I understand what you said is. You think the celeb/agent won't send anything? I have a list of celebs I want to try and send to. I have contacted several celebrities managers/agents, whatever and even linked a video in the e mail on my church's website. It's where they interviewed the family and they discussed what they did. But I haven't received anything yet from ANY of them(including Kiss' manager Doc McGhee). Our church however does do several things for the Cleope's(the family in the Philippines) this Spring Break a bunch of college students(including myself) are flying to the Philippines to help them. We've also collected a bunch of clothing and other items so for. But I want to give them money to help build these things they need down there. I talked to Mr. Cleope(will not say his first name) and he said it was a great idea!

Questions about auction I'm doing

I am currently thinking about trying to get Kiss to autograph a cd I have for my auction. I am trying to raise money for a family in our church is out in the Philippines doing mission work. They need well over $16,000 to help with projects that they are doing over there. I'm just wondering would Kiss even sign? Since their McGhee Entertainment address said they only sign for charity. But would they sign for this I wonder? I was thinking about maybe selling it on eBay or something once I get it (if I get it). How should I word the letter as well? This is going to be my first time doing this.
