Hi my advice,
Don't set prices just start low and hope for the best, best to let people fight over one to get the best price,
Yes put all notes in shows you have recieved them, and not just signed them yourself lol,
Ideas, I would have sent times when autographs will be going say 10.10 10.20 next to items, so people know to come at that time, instead of nipping to the loo and missing them,

I havent done one myself but i will pm you some celebs that will help,

My Opinion is do an auction. Have a decent starting price, and if it just goes up your likely to get a little bit more money out of it.

Notes are wonderful. I've seen some that say "Thanks for Supporting ___" or something. Just make sure there aren't any names.

I don't really have answers to the last two questions, but I do hope I was some sort of help.
:)

Advice please, on selling autographs for a fundraiser

Hi, Just joined!

I am collecting autographs to raise funds for a small non-profit community theatre group to cover rehearsal room hire, costumes, and even things like a table for the stage! I am donating the postage/ stationary/ photos, upfront, and we are planning a big fundraiser event in a local town hall in the autumn. Obviously, with lots of advertising, this will be great for publicity as well as the funds (or at least, thats what we hope) I have started writing off, in the past few days.

Just a few questions.

- Would we be better off setting prices, or having an auction of the autographs at the event?
- Is it best to sell them with or without any accompanying note or message that may have been received back with the photos? (I am thinking of showing the authenticity as far as is possible)...
- For people doing a similar things, what are your best hints and tips to make such an idea go smoothly?
- What has been your success rate of writing off for autographs for this type of project?
