You would get more for your item at an auction house than you would on eBay. Usually this is so because sometimes people fear buying autographs on eBay because most autographs on eBay are forgeries.

Ian that is a great idea about the auction house. I hadnt even thought of that. Also if you dont mind me asking who was it that got up to $550.

Hi guys!

I agree, eBay is great for reaching a wide audience, and generating funds quickly. However, I would say that if you get some particularly rare donations - from 'A' listers for instance - I would look at the possbility of auctioning them at a proper auction house.

You will have to pay a commission to the auction house, but you are far more likely to reach their actual value if you put them into a specialist auction.

The most I have ever sold an autograph for on eBay was £280 (US$550). Anything much above that will probably have to go to a specialist auction as many buyers are wary of paying large sums for autographs on eBay, due to scammers.

Hope this helps!

Again, ebay is a great way to go! I have made over $450 in only a couple weeks!!

I sell all my autographs for charity on ebay. I have been selling since September and have raised about 800 dollars for my charity. I think ebay is really good for selling autographs because that way people from all over the world can see what you have to offer.

I have had a lot of success with my ebay charity auction.

Which is better: Ebay charity auction or a local one?

Do people get more feedback on an Ebay charity auction or a local one? I was looking on Ebay at different autographs that are being auctioned and it doesnt look like people were really interested, maybe I wasn't looking at the right thing?
