To me personally. I don't think it is going to matter that it is ORIGINAL or not when children are involved.

A fund raiser is a fundraiser & people are going to send more money when it concerns children.

I have mailed out & emailed over 500 letters for the Back to school fair. ALL of my success will be donated to a child.

In the area we live in is a small rural area & in March 25% of our town was hit twice in less than a 2 week period on FLOODS.

I have NEVER mailed a SASE. Check my feedback.

Give people a little more credit, some give just to give. Others want money & / or just plain WILL NOT reply.

With it being a CHARITY I don't think they expect you to send SASE as they know your funds are more limited than theirs.

hey hun my daughter was born with a illness and she died earlier this yr , last yr i did a event for the hospice she went to and the people i asked for things were fantastic, this yr my neighbours organised a fundraising event for us to take my other girls on holiday and also people were fantastic again, Have you heard of a organisation called spirit of sport, they send you signed items and can even send a auctioner out if the item sells for more than its worth you keep the money if it doesnt sell you simply send it back, google sports memrobelia for charity/good causes.

Do you reckon it'd be ok to put it in the same envelope? I just don't see the point of sending two envelopes at the same time lol

1) Info on the child - E.G. Age 2, what's wrong etc
2) Little about me - e.g. How i'm involved in this
3) How we are linked to the company - E.G. To explain that the company personally aren't doing this but are funding & running the auction
4) Where the money will go - Trip to Florida Disney World
5) What we'll do with the autograph - Sell them at auction OR Raffle them off

Is this enough?

Also I wondered whether its bad to mix charity and personal. Some of the celebs i'll be writing to will be ones I want as well is it ok to add a note on the end asking for an autograph for personal use at the same time as requesting one for charity or is it better to send a separate letter.
That letter structure sounds fine to me, you should have no problem getting responses with it.

Regarding personal autogrsphs, you can add it on at the end of the letter, but I think that writing an extra letter, even if you include it in the same envelope, would be better.

Yes, I have used email requests and it is fine.

I wouldn't have thought so, I didn't when I sent off, only a letter, SASE, and an information sheet.

Thanks for your answer. We're just waiting for the go-ahead as we're going to get the company she works for to give me some letter headed paper so it looks more official and they are going give me the postage.

If you're sending for charity do you have to send anything besides the letter and an SASE?
