I emailed them again, i think what they said about "in production" is different from "filming" (the shooting starts today). The result is the same, this is what i got from the reply:

I haven't got a response from their production office. And i don't think they can forward the fanmail.

However, i know where Tom and Katie live in Melbourne, not sure whether it would be a good idea to write to the hotel directly.... :?

Shooting is scheduled to start in August.

Actually it doesn't.
What she meant was that since the film is only "in production" (meaning it hasn't started filming) if you were to send now THEN they won't forward it. Wait to see if you hear back from the production office. They will be able to tell you more. {up}
