for me personally.. its not the whole i dont want to share it with other true fans. its the fact that theres alot of people that will write to him and then go ahead and turn around and go sell the autograph causing celebs to stop signing .. and that messes it up for alot of other true fans.
honestly its not that hard to find an address im not saying its the easiest thing in the world to do but it is possible. its a little unfair for people like me who spend a few hours searching for an address then come here and someone post it here for everyone to get with no problem ... in the end i think if you put the work in to get an address it makes the success alot better knowing you got it right and not just freeload off of someone else's hard work.
again thats just my opinion
Thanks for your reply. I definitely see your point, and you're right about that it's much more rewarding once you do the hard work yourself. However, on the other hand that for X% of autograph seekers, a small % (hopefully it's small) are out for monetary gain in regards to selling it. Then you have people who never intended to sell their auto but do it because they need the money (I've seen my fair share of those on auction sites). People will buy an auto if they can't get it elsewhere, sad but true.
I was playing a bit of the Devil's advocate in my reply and I can see both sides of the coin. I guess what my point was, is that if someone was going to sell the autograph, they'd do it via one way or the other. I mean, they'll do it no matter what no one can really stop it. Withholding an address I believe, just hurts the fan. I hate reading posters that reply, "don't ever ask me for an address" (it just seems mean to me). I mean, we all have to start somewhere, right?
Although in support of the people who provide all these address, I hope that those who benefit from the information comes back and shares in their success, so that the site can thrive.
