NYC is New York City, the largest city in the state of New York. NY is the state of New York, and they are two completely different things.

That is why if you're sending a request to someone in NYC, you have to write New York twice. :)

We don’t have it. Maybe they are filming in NY State but they are not filming here in NYC.

The response from the NYC Film Office Director makes me think it's post-production, though.

Your request for info on a feature called “Don’t Fade Away” was forwarded to me this morning. This office is not familiar with this title and do not believe the movie is filming in NYC. Do you have any additional info? Studio? Talent? Director? Let me know.
