Venue : Sandton Convention Center, Johannesburg
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is in JHB for a political summit.
I phoned the Convention Center, and asked if there was any way possible I could meet Mr.Mugabe to get his autograph. The person on the line told me they cannot reveal any information about Mugabe, and whether he is there or not. (He is there, however). I left it at that - but about five minutes later, I got a call back from a security guard from the Center. My call had been tapped, and I was asked numerous questions - who I was, where do I live, what do I want with Mugabe, what my purpose for meeting him would be, etc etc
the security requested that I come to the Center immediately - at this point I was extremely excited, thinking I would be in with a chance - only to get there and be told that I'm not allowed near Mugabe, because I don't have verified accredition. I was then asked to leave, and that they're 'sorry'.
:mad: that's one
extremely annoying failure, as they could have just told me the last part over the phone. Mugabe is probably my most wanted autograph, and this is just another blow in my quest to get his signature!
