Trumpet legend and Carson's Tonight Show Bandleader Doc Severinsen was visiting the Evansville, Indiana area, to perform with the University of Evansville Jazz Band. Our local music store hosted the area's band director's to hear a talk with Mr. Severinsen, who was promoting the Shires Brand of trumpets.
After the talk we had a chance to meet Doc, take photos, purchase cds and get them signed. I did buy a cd, but I plan to listen to it so I didn't want it written on, and as an autograph collector I wanted to get a picture signed, so I brought one of my own!
He was very personable and funny to listen to as he shared his many life experiences! I'm not a trumpet player myself but he of course is a legend; I did bring along the college student who instructs my trumpets, it was a surprise for him and he was really excited!
Really thankful to H&H Music and the University of Evansville for making this possible!
