This past week, while working at Target here in Indianapolis, I met Tyler Hansbrough. He was the Pacers #1 draft pick this year and an excellent college player at UNC. Anytime I see someone in our store bigger than me (I'm 6'6") I do a quick scan of my memory to see if I recognize them from any sports teams. I approached Mr. Hansbrough and asked if he needed help... he said he did not. Just then my brain "clicked" on who he was and I shook his hand and told him if he needed anything to just let me know. Before I could walk away, he started asking me a few questions about sets of glasses and silverware. He then asked if I would help him pick out a blender...which I did. Mr. Hansbrough was in the store for about an hour shopping.
I caught him on his way out of the store and asked for a quick autograph. He gladly signed a piece of paper in silver sharpie for me and inscribed it, "To Matt"
It's not everyday you get to shake the hand of a millionaire (he will make $1.5 million this year and $1.7 million next year!)
Good Luck!
Matt
