you hit on it 100% what I've been trying to say. Though I'm still not a fan about waiting for a celebrity at a hotel You are absolutely right. I guess it's ok to wait at a certain distance outside the hotel. But inside the lobby, still to me is a no no.
Also, remember, what the fans may think is ok to do, the celebrity may not. Put yourself in Carrie's place. To her it may seemed kind of "stalkish" that people knew exactly where she was staying and she just wanted to get out of there. Yeah the people there were fans BUT Carrie doesn't know that.
Totally agree.. if I were a celeb, I actually would be creeped out that fans know where I'm staying!

Oh man, I remember that. That was really creepy. They were actually going up to where the rooms were and knocking on their doors. They nearly stopped signing that year because of the fans' behaviour...

Also, I went to a few American Idol tour shows last summer, and if anyone's ever been to one, some of the Idols always come out beforehand to sign for fans.. well in Hartford, CT last summer, the tour manager came out and told us they wouldn't be signing that day because when the Idols arrived at the hotel at 5 AM that morning, there was a huge group of fans in the lobby hounding them for autographs and pictures. At 5 AM!!! Such an intrusion.

In the past 24 hours, I have heard of two celebrity stalkers being arrested. What you write is spot on

Well then bigcurt you're just not lucky then with Carrie. I've meet Carrie, maybe, a half a dozen time and she has ALWAYS took time to talk to fans, sign autographs and take pictures. I meet Carrie again just this past April at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas and she was still nice as can be. I say this again. Maybe she didn't like the fact that you knew where she was staying.

 That sounds like Davey Havok from AFI. Complete jerk! I was with my niece who loves him and she politely asked for a autograph and then he said no thanks and she starts crying and just walks away  and then the manager or whoever was with him said we were invading his space. Helloooo it's on the public sidewalk outside the venue hardly invading your space. I later find out Davey is a jerk to all fans. Glad I wasn't alone.

In my city the second we step inside the hotel we get kicked out.The hotels hate us.You have to be sharp. They sneak out the back lots to.And gene is terrible.I heard of a time were he signed a autograph for a 14 year old girl who was a big fan of his.The only reason he did this was because he was on a show being filmed. After he was done being shot on film he he went to the girl and asked her how much she was going to sell it for.He is full of himself and is even worse then carrie underwood. If you do some research you can see that carrie is not good to fans. This is only her 3rd tour and she has no reason to act like this.Especially if there was only 1 or 4 people there. Also when I'm at the hotel I follow certain rules.I will not rush the celebrity.I always tell them how great they are for signing.I will always stay far away from them if they arrive in a bus and will always give them space. Most people don't actually mind signing for me.The only tricky thing is getting a picture with them as they don't like to some times.

Gene Simmons nice? You got to be kidding. Unless he's schedule to sign his uptenth book on KISS he won't even give you the time of day. The Ebayers and dealers have, unfortunately ruined this guy.

 Really Gene Simmons?? I always thought he was nice. Carrie I can understand what a dissapointment it must of been. I remember reading on a forum a year or so ago someone was in the same situation as you going after Jessica Simpson and she did the same thing blew off 4 people and they even posted on her website how angry they were. I can understand how fustrating it must be to get blown off. I have been there before....

You never know, maybe her manager or record label tells her not to sign autographs outside of shows or premieres. Maybe she was rushed or didn't notice. So don't make such a harsh opinion on her. :D
This is what I meant. :)
