After years of trying, I finally got Bruce Springsteen!
I got him at a theatre in NYC when he arrived for a benefit show.
I've never experienced anything like this before--the crowd went wild when he arrived! There were only maybe 6-7 true fans waiting along with maybe 20 or so dealers. I was inside a barricade along the stage door with the fans while the dealers waited in the street.
After arriving Bruce signed selectively for people he thought were legitimate. While he was good about signing for me, he passed over the vast majority of things people wanted signed. The dealers originally tried to get him in the street and couldn't, so they came to the barricades and kept pushing and shoving and reaching over the front line of people with albums, but Bruce just ignored them.
Including my album, it seemed like he signed only about 6 things. I saw two things get signed on the opposite side of the barricades, and on my side he signed for 4 people including myself.
I'm glad I got him going in--I saw a video of him leaving the theater later that night and the crowd waiting for him was triple the size it was in the afternoon and even crazier! Because of all the people and the craziness he didn't sign on the way out.
It's great to finally have my most wanted autograph and to have had the opportunity to meet my hero!
