Today I was en route with 5 fellow collectors to hunt down Brazilian musician and "King of Bossa Nova" Mr. Sérgio Mendes.
Due to really bad presales his concert was relocated from an open-air amphitheatre to a small indoor venue which was even better for us. ;-)

So we met at the venue at around 4:30 pm and learned from one of Mendes' crew member that he'd arrive at around 6 pm. Fair enough, since we had a lot new collector's gossip to share. :lol:

So at 6:05 pm a small Opel Corsa (supermini) arrived at the backstage entrance and inside we spotted Sérgio Mendes and his wife. Strange enough since this was a private car from a local. Anyway, Mendes got out of the car and came directly to us. He started signing literally everything, photos, LP's, index cards, simply anything that was handed to him. In total he signed 40-50 autographs for us 5 collectors which wasn't too bad I'd say. ;-)

Since was the second to get my 8x10 promo pics signed, I taped some of the Mendes' "signing session".

When Mendes was done I asked him to pose for a photo with me which he did, but unfortunately his eyes were mid-closed as I realized afterwards.

After we took the photo he went into the backstage area to get his soundcheck started.

Afterall, quite a nice success for today {up}
