I went to a book-signing for her new book, Devoted, today at the MOA. I waited for 4 hours after I got the wristband and when I got to the table, she said how are you? I said good and then didn't know what to say because she's the first celebrity i've ever met. I love the Lizzie McGuire Movie because I'm still 12 at heart!! haha. So I brought the DVD hoping she might sign it despite the "rule" list...which is ridiculous, by the way. It said no personalizations, no pictures on stage, no pictures with her (she didn't want to pose or something), no cameras on the stage at all, no memorabilia autographs, etc. but I'd seen pictures on facebook and twitter of other people at signings last night and the night before having success with her signing photos and other memorabilia, taking pictures, AND personalizing...
So even though I should've expected it (all celebrities always seem to go half-assed in Minnesota compared to everywhere else because we're a lame state or whatever.....) I was still bummed that her manager and the lady writing names on post-its both said she won't sign the DVD. I would have gladly traded an autograph on my DVD instead of the book. After all, it's a dumb story.
So I got to the front and said what I wrote above, and I asked "can i have a picture?" and she seemed a little annoyed , she told me my friend (who was standing just off the stage after me to take a picture) could take one while she signed it..so she was barely looking. Plus i look like TRASH and my friend took the most awful picture i've ever seen. But it's still special!
After, I went to the edge of the big area and heard someone from after me say that it was awkward because when she asked for a picture, Hilary whispered to her manager something like "I said no pictures" or something.... at least she was a little bit too polite to not say it to the fans, but it seemed kind of rude because we are all there for her, waiting all day, regardless of the rules. That girl's friend asked her if she's still friends with Gordo
hahahah. she said not really.
