I'm pretty sure both Winslet and DiCaprio got huge residual payments, on top of what they were paid, after the movie became a huge success. He got a lot more than $2.5M once everything was said and done.

He was busy filming [b]Django Unchained[/b] in Louisiana. Believe me, if he had a break in his schedule, he would've been there. It was the film that put him on the map. I think he said in a 2010 interview with [i]Rolling Stone[/i], the money he made on [b]Titanic[/b] was more than enough for him to retire on. It gave him the freedom to cherry-pick his own roles from then on.

I think it was worth it, especially since Winslet and Cameron were there. Winslet was the anchor of that film, even though Leo's character had a big role in it. And she is still beautiful... not as ravishing as she was back in the 1990s, but she's holding up pretty well. 8)
