So Switchfoot is my absolute favorite band. I am fortunate enough to get to meet them almost every time they are in town. One time they even invited me to play water volleyball with them at the pool at the hotel they were staying at. So this weekend, they were in town for 2 days. On Saturday, they played at a small record shop for Record Store Day. And on Sunday, they played at a big music festival. I was able to meet Jon Foreman both days. At the record store, he was just walking around looking at records and I went up and talked to him. I told him how much I love his lyrics, and right there in the store he hand wrote a lyrics sheet to my favorite Switchfoot song and then signed it to me!!! I was in shock. Every time I meet him I say he is the nicest musician I've ever met, and this only confirms it! I bought their limited edition Record Store Day release as well and then was able to get it signed by him along with the rest of the band backstage at the music festival the next day. They also handed me a press photo of the band backstage to get signed. They are really nice guys! Pictures below!
