Hi!
I went up to Newcastle a 4hr train ride away) yesterday for the Great North City Games, a free-to-watch athletics event held each year on the day before the Great North Run. I went last year (as I was running the GNR) and had a great time, so went up for the day this year. Also got to meet my collector friends Josh, Robin and Tom, so it was a great day.
Met loads of athletes, including Olympic medallists
Greg Rutherford, Christian Taylor, Will Claye and
Jason Richardson. Everyone was lovely and happy to sign, minus
Mo Farah.
I got a fair few bits signed, and a load of photos with. As well as watching most of the athletics on show (my highlight has to be the long jump!). However my highlight has to be this photo; me and Olympic triple jump champion
Christian Taylor. He's holding the Great City Games trophy and wearing his medal from the days events, whilst I'm holding his 2012 Olympic Gold Medal! How awesome is this!
