Today I meet Ally Condie who is the author of the Matched Trilogy (Matched, Crossed, Reached). Which she is currently on her Reached book tour.
I have yet to read any of the books in this series, but it was next on my list of books to read so when I found out that she was coming to Miami, I figured I’d go and get her autograph.
The event started at 7pm but she didnt come out to speak until about 7:15-7:20pm. She made a point to tell the crowd pictures were okay to take but she didnt want anyone to video record it, since she didnt want it ending up online; as she said then there would be no point on people to go to her book events if they can just watch it online.
She talked for a good 15 mins about herself and about the series then opened out to questions from the crowd. Which wasnt that big at all. I think 30 or 40 people if that maybe even a little less.
By 7:50ish they wrapped up the questions then formed a line for us to get our books signed and take pictures with her. She chatted with everyone for a couple of mins while she signed the books and stuff.
She’s super sweet and nice. Cant wait to read the series! After hearing her talk about it makes me wanna read it even more.
