Tonight and last night I met Mark Appel (#1 overall pick of the 2013 MLB draft), Carlos Correa (#1 overall pick of the 2012 MLB draft), and Lance McCullers Jr (#41 pick of the 2012 MLB draft). These guys are all top prospects in the Houston Astros organization. This is the first time in history that two consecutive #1 overall picks have been on the same minor league roster - Appel and Correa. These were obtained in person in South Bend IN after game 1 and game 2 of the Midwest League Championship Series against the South Bend Silver Hawks who are the Arizona Diamondbacks single A team.
Appel and Correa are 1 per person but were very cool with us both times. I hope they continue to be good signers!
