Hey Megan69487

I now know what the problem is!

When you post a new topic/ reply if you look just above the 'Preview' and 'Submit' button, their are some options that you can turn on and off- the top one disables HTML in your posts, this must be turned off (i.e not have a tick in the box)

See if this solves the problem!

Best wishes,

Paul :D

Dear megan69487,

to me it seems that your browser doesn't accept HTML codes since it has got nothing to do with capitals.

You have done everything right so far! {up}

Best,
Stephan

Thanks!!

Thanks again Paul...I really appreciate your help!!! I was really starting to feel pretty stupid and knew I just had to be missing something pretty simple!!
Hey megan69487

You're welcome!

I think the problem is that the part on your original post with 'img' either side of the photo link this needs to be in capital letters. Like this- [IMG] Link Here [/IMG]

Bob Hope

by megan69487 » Thu Aug 24, 2006 1:58 am

Hi Stephan - I grew up in a military family and then married into one too...so Mr. Hope has always held a special place in my heart for all the time he gave our men/women in the military, which is also what made it so special to be able to let my children meet him too. He is definitely missed. :(

Hey Paul - Thanks for fixing my photo for me...I know it's gotta be something really stupid that I'm missing, so it's driving me crazy! What is it that I'm doing wrong on it...that way, I might not need that straight jacket after all! (then again...) I really appreciated all your help. You guys have been great!

Dear megan69487,

that is a really nice story and a great success since Bob Hope's signature has been discussed for ages.

I also met him back in 1994 at the "Follies" show in Las Vegas, took a photo during the event, got it colour laserprinted in the back office and asked him to sign it for me.

He's been a great actor and entertainer. May he rest in peace!

Best,
Stephan

Some Older In Person Successes....

by megan69487 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 7:10 pm

We were lucky enough to have met some interesting people years ago with my husband in the military...they used to come out to the base and do signings. I worked in a travel agency on the base and we supplied the charter bus (my husband had his Class B license and would volunteer in his off duty time for me) so he would have dinner with several of them...like Michael Winslow, Sherrie Austin and countless NFL cheerleaders. (he actually got bored driving them around, because they seemed to have teams coming in almost every weekend, so he actually asked us to find another driver for them!!)

Anyway...I figured I'd post a few of my in person successes in case someone wants to compare them with something.

My favorites were Bob and Dolores Hope. I stood around talking to their pilot and he was telling me that they were getting ready to hit the golf course afterward :) (my husband was at work or he would've begged them to play along probably!) My daughter had written a note to him and when she gave it to him, he got his people to get her address and got up to hug her, which I thought was really sweet....he sent another autograph, so we were able to give the signed CD that we had to my mom. Anyway, here's one with both of their signatures on it.

PS...what am I doing wrong...I can't see the picture on preview? Thanks!
