DAY 2 - September 8th 2007
Hey guys! I went on saturday again for TIFF and it was pretty cool there. A typical second day of TIFF; waiting a lot of hours lol. In the afternoon it was the premier of "Terra" where Brian Cox, Justin Long and some other stars appeared. I managed to get Justin Long to sign an index card for me for that one.
Later in the afternoon was the premier of "Eastern Promises" where alot of stars were to attend. I saw Naomi Watts, Viggo Mortenson and Vincent Cassel. Naomi stopped signing from a certain point just furthur up from me and Vincent signed only like two autographs. However, Viggo was very very generous and signed all the way down. He signed my 8x10 and 4x6 that I had. He was a really cool person!
DAY 3 - September 9th 2007
Day 3 arrived and it rained in the morning and what not. Not exactly the kind of weather you like in the morning but it was cold later on. In the afternoon they premiered a Bollywood film named "The Last Lear". I believe it is in English. Three of the most well known Bollywood stars arrived at the Gala: Preity Zinta, Amitabh Bachchan and Arjun Rampal. Those who know them, will know who I am talking about. Amitabh is like the bollywood equivalent of Brad Pitt lol. I managed to get Mr. Bachchan's auto and Preity's. Arjun signed only a couple as I think he was suffering jet lag lol. Funn thing really. Preity was not going to sign earlier, but the crowd seemed to be screaming their heads off, and she, after being interviewed by the press, came back to the crowd. I got two of Mr. Bachchan's. He sorta of signed my envelope first on which my photo was on and then he signed the photo. So a part of the signature, a small part, is on the photo.
Last but not least, was the premier of "Elizabeth: The Golden Age". I was really hoping to see Geoffrey Rush and Cate Blanchett and was soooo Excited. At end moment, before the stars arrived, some of us were moved closer to the Red Carpet which was pretty cool. Firstly a limo came up with the director of the movie Mr. Shekhar Kapur. He generously signed some cards and stuff at the entrance where we were. He did later go and sign other people on the other side after being interviewed.Just then as he was going in, a limo arrived and guess who: Geoffrey Rush!! The crowd went berserk. It was sad that I didn't bring a picture of his, but he signed an index card for me. Afterwards, came Clive Owen!! He was really well dressed in a black tux and very happily signed for mostly everyone there. He looked in a REALLY good mood. sadly again, I only had an index card (hits self). Before clive, Abbie Cornish had come and she signed as well. Then the moment of truth came when another Cadillac drove up: Cate Blanchett! She looked absolutely stunning in a purplish dress and was totally amazing. She happily signed so many autographs and gladly signed my 8x10. She was totally awesome. Probably one of the nicest people I have met. She even made jokes while signing "Are you sure thats me? that can't be me!"
After that, we had a special guest visit from Leelee Sobieski and her mother. That was kind of a surprise as we had NO idea she was coming. She signed a couple as well, including my index card.
We were all so happy with the event, with the people who had arrived and such and we really didn't want to go lol. While I thought it was over, I was sorta packing up when another Cadillac came up. It had the candle lights on and I thought it must be someone I don't know as not many other stars, as far as I read were coming. The door opened, and guess who? LIV TYLER!!! That was the biggest shock of our lives. She, not being of the movie premiering, would not really sign. However, she did sign a few at the entrance and I luckily got her to sign my Index card. That was really really lucky for me. A fan in the crowd then said that the Incredible Hulk cast, which is filmed here in Toronto, was invivted to the afterparty. We were all like waiting for Edward Norton to arrive. Sadly he didn't and we all just went off afterwards.
Overall it was an week. the third day was the best as it was the most exciting of all.
I want to give a special thanks to Chrissy and Larisie who helped me understand and sorta helped me with my first TIFF. Thanks guys!
I can't upload any photos for a while as 1. My camera has no batteries and 2. I sorta cleaned my PC so have no software to run on it lol. I shall try and get it up. If I can't and i forget, sorry guys!
Cheers
