On Saturday evening, the 13th October, a group of us went to a DEBRA fundraising event at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
Janice Connolly who is most known for playing Holy Mary in Phoenix Nights was there doing a short piece as her stand-up alter ego...Barbara Nice.
Once her time on stage was over and she had presided over the auction she was talking to one of our party who was involved in organising the event. So she ended up sat on our table for about 45mins or so talking to us all and posing for photos with us. Poor woman must have been fed up of the row of cameras that was sat on our table, but she never showed it and was very smiley with all of us. Once we'd done the photo rounds, I took my DEBRA ticket and once she asked my name she signed it for me. When she asked what my name was she said she liked my dress. Awww.
Anyhow, it says 'To Kerry. Lots of love, Holy Mary. xxx. Janice Connolly. xxx'
Once she signed my ticket, she did everyone else's. Now while she was doing this I went back up to our room and got my DVD covers. (I didn't have them in my bag 'cos my bag was only little.) Once I got back down, I caught her before she was about to leave and even though she'd been signing for a while she signed both of the covers and was asking who I already had on them.
