Debbie Reynolds in person success!!

by kade67 » Tue Apr 08, 2008 7:37 am

I was out and about early Thursday afternoon (April 3rd)and was in a polo shirt and ball cap and had to go get my hair cut, when my friend, and my mom both realized Debbie Reynolds was performing that afternoon as host of "Simply Ballroom". So we had about thirty minutes til the show started and scored some front row seats. It also stars a couple of people from American Idol a couple seasons ago, Vonzel, and that Anthony Federov. I, the boy scout that I am, always go out with my messenger bag with my photos in binders, so I can pull one out if need be. This was the case while only a few minutes into the show, Debbie Reynolds mentioned about folks remembering her and I held up that pic of her from How the West Was Won. She looked down and asked what I had, when I told her what pic it was, she laughed and said, "Well, I am the one in it, I know what it's from". She managed to make jokes and talk to me the entire show, and right in the middle of the show, said, now where is that young man that wants me to sign that picture ? She was very surprised though when I told her I was older than she thought and in my forties. She still told a dirty joke and then came over to me and said, "Now, let me explain that to you". She was wonderful. And the show was great here in Fort Lauderdale. She did not want to personalize it, because she kept saying, trust me, one day you will want to sell it on e-bay and nobody wants YOUR name on it ! LOL ....You can see from the one picture, she was tossing the pen back to me.
