First post on fanmail.biz!

I thought I'd share my IP successes from Wednesday with you!
On Wednesday evening I decided at the last minute to head up to London to check out the press night of The Chalk Garden at the Donmar. It was a bit of a washout (for a while it seemed like Leon Lopez was going to be the only notable name there) but I was very excited to meet Victoria Wood, who seemed slightly confused by the group of people asking for her autograph ("I'm not actually
in the play, you know!"). As I told her, dinnerladies is one of my favourite TV shows of all time, so it was fantastic to meet her.

Then it was on to the Duke of York's in the vain hope of getting Hannah Murray (Cassie from Skins), who, since her opening night, has developed ninja-like qualities and could probably slip through a crowd of the most hardened dealers without any of them suspecting a thing. Needless to say, we didn't even see her, but I did get Matt Smith (
imdb) to sign a flier for me and Julian Wadham (
imdb) to sign a picture of the two of us taken earlier this week (I think).

Then we hurried to the Trafalgar Studios to catch the Fat Pig cast. I wanted to get Joanna Page and Kris Marshall on photos I'd already had with them but Kris was on the phone as he came out and Joanna left as I was getting a picture with Robert Webb. We were the only people there so there was no one to distract her! Ella Smith was happy to sign my picture of us together. We also saw Phill Jupitus, who signed a (slightly horrific) picture of the two of us.

Then it was off to the Gielgud --
not to try for Ralph Fiennes because, frankly, I've wasted enough time on him as it is, but to see the lovely Tamsin Greig, who (er, unlike some) always seems happy to sign (another time she signed three Black Books DVD covers and a flier for me!).

Our final stop for the day was to the Cabaret theatre for Alistair McGowan. Embarrassingly enough, this was actually the
sixth time I'd tried for Alistair (the first four times, I managed to miss him completely, the fifth time he arrived on his bike and didn't want to sign) and I'm pleased to say I was
finally successful! Sixth time lucky, as they (probably don't very often) say!
Alistair's autograph (I ask people to sign to "Katy with a 'y'" to avoid any spelling confusion -- what Alistair wrote cracked me up!):

All in all, not a bad evening bearing in mind that until about 4pm I hadn't even planned to go out that day!
