Fmr. Sen. Al Simpson - SURPRISING Success

I definitely did not expect this one at all!

Over a year ago, I sent an email to the office of fellow autograph collector and Fmr. U.S. Senator Alan K. Simpson (R-WY). I do not remember the email address or where to even find it since it was so long ago. I gave up hope about six months ago and almost completely forgot about sending the request.

However, on 2/27/2011, to my surprise, I received a big yellow envelope from Sen. Simpson's office! Inside was a nice 8x10 photo with a very thoughtful and personal inscription. In addition, he signed and personalized a business card for me. ALSO, he sent me a copy of the email request I sent to his secretary. On that paper, there is correspondence that shows that Sen. Simpson's secretary actually sent me email directly to him to read. So, yes, he did read my message personally and sent me this response, one of the nicest I've ever received.

Also, I think it took so long because it must have gotten lost in the mail. I sent the request about a year ago and the signed photo is dated March 2011, just a few weeks after I sent my request. So, either it got lost in the mail or somewhere in his office. Either way, I could not be happier with this; I am very grateful for the words of kindness and encouragement from the Senator.
