About 6 months ago I sent a letter to President Clinton hoping to get a signed bookplate. I didn’t realize you had to send a book. (being that I know George W. Bush just sends bookplates without having to send a book) His Correspondence Department sent me a letter back telling me to send a book and they would gladly put in a bookplate. A month or two later my friend who knows I love politics called me and told me she had an extra ticket for a speaking engagement of Mr. Clinton’s. Her dad who was supposed to use the ticket had a flight that was delayed and was unable to make it. The tickets her mom bought ended up coming with meet and greets - so we both had the honor of meeting President Clinton. When I sent the book out I added the picture in the box as well hoping that maybe it would be signed as well. (I was hoping for authentic but knew he send out AP’s) I wrote him a nice letter about how much I admire him etc., and sent it off! (Probably towards the end of May beginning of June)
Saturday I received an envelope with a return address from “William Jefferson Clintonâ€. The first thing that came to mind was, “This is weird. I sent a book...†I opened it up and found that it was my photo personally signed from Mr. Clinton. I was absolutely shocked! (photo below - I just posted a pic of the signature; didn’t really want a photo of me on here)

;)
Today, I received the book - actually with the package all torn up, shoved in the mailbox.

;( I figured it would just be a bookplate like originally stated in the letter they sent me but instead it was personally signed and dated by Mr. Clinton! I truly can’t believe it - I’m guessing it was because of the fact I sent the photo of when we met him.
