True, people that believe in a "God" these days show a complete lack of intelligence and the ability to self educate themselves. It is shocking the amount of "smart" people that still believe in something that was originally used by every early culture to scare and control them. Henry VIII even created his own religion and named himself "Pope" to keep himself on the throne. A religion that people still accept and believe today throughout England. If there really was a "God" I doubt it would have allowed that and the same kind of thing other religions did in the name of "God".
I am a Protestant Christian, and I am confident in the existence of a superior being. If you would like to have a peaceful debate about the existence (or non-existance) of a deity, I will be happy to oblige. If you don't want that, I do not want to come across as "preachy" and waste time on deaf ears if you know what I mean. PM me.
