Sorry to hear about your missing card. Don't give up try again. As far as what to do with the signed copy of the photo, I will gladly take it off your hands. I sent Whitey a card a couple months ago and got it back unsigned. Best of luck to you

I'm gonna tell you right now that you will be wasting your time writing him a letter to request your card...

Whitey has no desire for the card you sent so I seriously doubt he did anything corrupt to take it. Whitey was a world class drinker back in the day and who knows where his memory is... As I stated before, this isn't the first time that items sent to Whitey weren't returned...I've seen instances where he sent items back unsigned with a note requesting money when funds were sent the first time. I'm not sure if he's just old and can't manage his mail or whoever is managing his mail is very un-organized.

One of 2 things probably happened...

1) your card was signed and sent to someone else by mistake
2) you card was lost in his stack of mail and after your item had been sent back, they had no idea who it belonged to and probably trashed it.

It sucks, but if it means that much to you, go buy another one on ebay for $15-20.

Trust me...I know how bad this sucks. A few months ago, I sent a Nolan Ryan RC to Jerry Koosman to have signed...I get my package back with a note from Koosman saying that there was no card when he got the package... Nothing I can do about it...I took the risk...

I'm sure Whitey would love the "I won't hold you responsible" nonsense.
Yeah I'm not going to bug him again. O'well, guess he wanted the card. Just **** cuz I provided enough of a donation to get the card AND 8x10 signed... Whatevs.
Then there was no point in you moaning about it on the forum in the first place. I wouldn't be giving up, as I am fairly sure it will be a misunderstanding, but that's your call. This post can now disappear into the ether of the forum, until some other smart@ss makes a comment.

I think at this point it's safe to say I will not be seeing the card again...
Dear Mr Ford,

Thank you for responding to my letter, however I think you may have misunderstood. If the card was not present when you received the letter, or it has been lost, please let me know as I will not hold you responsible. If the latter, would it be possible to send you some other items for you to sign at no cost as I am distraught at losing a card which is worth a lot of money.

Worth a try.

UPDATE: Sent Mr. Ford a letter requesting my card back. Received my letter back signed, no card. LMAO! I don't even know what to do with this...?
