I agree with you to a certain extent. I think ALL current players should not charge a dime for their signature. When you are making millions a season, what is another $1,000 at a show. As far as older players like Doerr, Vern Law or the late Virgil Trucks did not make much during their playing days. I believe if they want to charge a modest fee, they are entitled but with that being said, many of the older players love the game and fans and are happy to sign for free. That should be a lesson to the generation of greedy ballplayers that we have today.

That is definitely true besides Pat Neshek I consider him to be the greatest signer in all of baseball. He signs anything! He is also one of the few HOFers who signs for free. I believe (and this is my opinion if you disagree I am open to comments) that all players should sign for free. This signing shouldn't be made into a business. I can see the other side of the argument and how some of you might say well if they are free some people might try to take advantage of free signers but I will still stick to my guns and say all players should sign for free.

I have him on a ball and a photo.I also sent him a Red Sox poster yesterday that I am trying to get signed by the Red Sox greats. He surly ranks up at the top of that list.

Great Success! He turns 95 in a few days and is still the best signer of all the Hall of Famers!

Sent a LOR and 4 x 6 picture of this HOFer in an SASE on 3/27/13. Today 4/4/13 I received the photo back signed. It took8 days. Sorry no scanner
