I'll send a request of autograph to Eva Marie Saint.
I sent stills to Joan Fontaine, but I couldn't get an answer from her.
(Vintage stills was sent, but, that wasn't being also returned.)
I think you did everything possible to attempt not losing your photos. In my situation, I was also attempting to assure that I could at least get my lobby cards back if they could not be signed. Like mentioned in another comment, I now copy my originals unless I am 100% sure that the celebrity is signing. Then, there is still the chance of them being lost or damaged in the mail. I have also had some people keep my originals and instead return their own photo. The risk is just too high when we are talking vintage items that are difficult to replace. With Eva Marie Saint and Joan Fontaine, I sent a small photo first and when I got them back, took the chance on sending vintage items. I was successful but also lucky. In the Linda Blair situation, I was told that my package was received but had been "misplaced". I guess in the end, never send anything that you are not willing to lose.
