It has nothing to do with value.
It's essentially a guarantee that it'll fade & yellow, as you're just permanently encasing it in a non-archival material. At least if you use non-archival sleeves, you can actually remove them.
Most people want to go out of their way to preserve their autographs, rather than destroying them, but it's your time & money.
Though am I curious if all these "they're yours, so you can destroy them if you want" posters would be singing the same tune if you said you set them on fire after getting them.
There's a sense of rudeness to knowingly destroy something that someone went out of their way to sign for you. And that's exactly what you're doing.
