Congrats!! And having met her 4 times in the past 15 years...first being her book signing...I will chime in with authentic, as well :)

Ps...to the other poster one of my in persons has an open D....and at her book signing my mom brought a photo she had signed in the 50's in ball point pen..signature was a little different including the E in Debbie connecting to the R in Reynolds. When she re signed the photo for my mom she copied the old version of her signature. And told my mom she had always and will always sign her own fan mail. Classy lady!

I was wondering about Debbie Reynolds' fan mail autographing. I had read an article on this site that said the D is open and the s goes to the left. That seems to be true from the ones I have received in the mail. In person, the ones I have , the D is closed and the s goes to the right. They look very close, except for those 2 differences. Does anyone know for sure that she does all the autographs herself?

Secretarial Signatures
Secretarials are perhaps the most difficult to detect. A skilled secretary can emulate signatures very well. In some cases, a secretary may have been signing for so many years that even experts can't tell the difference between real and secretarial. Sometimes a secretarial signature may appear to be more "deliberate" and slowly written. Also look for loops -- sometimes secretarial loops are looser and more "feminine" than authentic. (This assumes it's a female secretary signing for her male boss, of course.) If there is an inscription, does it match signature? Sometimes secretaries let their guard down when writing inscriptions and you can tell the inscription handwriting doesn't look like it came from the same person who signed the item. .

Someone here is making reference to 'sec' as in 'secretorial'. That being that a Secretary has forged the autograph on behalf of the star.
