On August 1, 2011, I sent a LOR, SASE, and photo to Mark Schwahn - creator, writer and exec. producer of One Tree Hill. In my letter I asked if it'd be possible to get the cast to sign the photo.
One week later, on August 8, 2011 I received a FedEx plastic envelope including my letter, my photo unsigned, and an official One Tree Hill cast photo pre-signed by James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Sophia Bush, Austin Nichols, Jana Kramer, Shantel Van Santen, Robert Buckley, and Jackson Brundage. You can definitely tell it is not an auto or pre-print. My guess is that the cast signs a bunch of these photos at some point to have one hand for fans/events, etc. Very cool success, am very happy with this!
