I thought the Oscars were pretty good. Winslet finally wins her first Oscar, well deserved. I was rooting for Rourke to win instead of Penn, but it was pretty much a coin toss between the two. I liked the new format of having five former Oscar winners of that category coming out and presenting the award.

Wouldn't say he was robbed.
Sean Penn gave a really astounding performance in Milk, and totally transformed himself into Harvey Milk. Mickey Rourke did a wonderful job also, but didn't inhabit his character as fully as Penn did.

I would have been happy to see either win personally, as they gave the best performances of the year, woman or man.

I was disappointed to see Penelope Cruz actually got it. I was hoping to see Viola Davis edge past her.

I was shocked that The Dark Knight, which was easily the biggest movie last year in terms of box office success and general praise, didnt get nominated for best picture.. I havent seen Slumdog yet so i cant comment on it, but i really think that Dark Knight should've been up there fighting for the best picture award aswell.. {down} Other then that the ceremony was brilliant, the best in years imo. And Hugh Jackman was perfect as a host! Id love to see him up there again in the future. {up}

Oh, and Rourke should've won for best actor.. :roll:

As Long as Heath Wins ill be happy but ill list who i want to win.

And when it comes to the Oscars they are known to throw up suprises after all Marion Cotillard was an outside chance at winning but she did.

Anyways

BEST PICTURE:
Milk <-- Want to win
Slumdog Millionaire <-- Will Win

BEST ACTOR
Sean Penn - Milk <-- Want to Win
Mickey Rourke - The Wrestler <-- Will win

BEST ACTRESS
Meryl Streep - Doubt <-- Want to Win
Kate Winslet - The Reader <-- Most likely winner
Angelina Jolie - Changeling <-- Could be an outside chance

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight <-- Will Win :)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Amy Adams - Doubt <-- Deserves to Win but wont
Penelope Cruz - Vicky Cristina Barcelona <-- Will win

BEST ACTOR:
Robert Pattinson - Twilight

:lol: I'm just joking (although that would have been refreshing!). :D Honestly, this is not a very good year in my opinion, it's so predictable who will win, really... :roll: I agree 100% with amyfairycakes's predictions - those are the winners (whether we like it or not). :neutral: From the beginning of the award season we all knew "Slumdog Millionaire" is the best picture (I don't have a problem with it, I'd actually like to see it) and Rourke will be best actor. I don't want Kate Winslet to win (but she will) best actress, but rather Streep. {up}

I saw Milk again last night, and I'm kind of rooting for Sean Penn to win. I'm shocked that James Franco or Emile Hirsch didn't get nominated over Josh Brolin for it though.

I don't really follow the Oscars but I'd love to see Heath Ledger win one.
