I agree. There's very little football violence taking place nowadays, when there is it's not usually with London teams. There's football firms and the violence happens between each opposing firm.

I also agree that West End Theatres are the best place to go. :)

There is very rarely football violence these days. In the very very rare occasions I believe that it is usually very near the stadium that these things happen!

West End theatres are best for autograph collecting, check on the internet who is performing etc. beforehand however!

I don't so much anymore but I used to go out in London a lot on a Friday night and never experienced any football related violence. Don't let it stop you going out.

This is incredibly naive - you really need to know the current "in" clubs and even then anyone well known would be in the VIP section. West End theatres would be a good bet for autograph hunting.

I've spent way too long on the tubes late at night coming home from gigs, and can't say I've ever seen any violence down there. Think Arsenal were playing one night as well, I think any issues from that will be very localised to the stations around the stadium, if you don't go near there or don't have to get off probably won't even notice theres been one apart from the large number of football shirts :lol:
Lots of drunk businessmen though, especially in the McDonalds at Liverpool Street. Never had any hassle from anyone though, think they're all too busy trying to stay on their feet.

I've used the tube late at night in London on Friday nights. I've never experienced any street violence, but then I've never been to a Premiership football match. I don't think there's many fights in underground stations regardless of whether theres been a match or not.
If you're going through rush hour, which is 5PM-ish, you're likely to get incredibly squashed in the tube lol. If you're using the tubes or trains at night, you're far more likely to find a drunk than a fight.
I'm not sure if there's anything on on the dates you're in London, you may be able to find something interesting on Google ;)

I have two questions for London residents and collectors. Thank you very much in advance for your replies!

1/ I'm told that it may be pretty dangerous to go out on a Friday night when some football matches are played due to street violence by hooligans or whatever they're called. Is this true? I'm told that street fights and fights in the Underground stations are quite regular and that it is highly advisable to stay at home on Friday nights. I will be visiting London again soon (April 10th to April 12th) so I'd like to know about this.

2/ Are there any interesting performances on Saturday April 11th that you would recommend? Also, any interesting chances for an autograph collector at that date?
