I also have just heard the sad news of Ronnie Barker's death :( As Ian said he was one of Britain's greatest actors, and he will always be remembered for his comedy performances. We have lost one of the greatest British comedians ever, and he will be truly missed [uk]

COMEDY LEGEND RONNIE BARKER - R.I.P

Ronnie Barker 25 September 1929 - 3 October 2005
I have just heard the sad news this morning that British comedy legend Ronnie Barker passed away yesterday (Monday 4th October).

His family released the sad information this morning.

Ronnie was born in my home county, and I was lucky enough to meet him briefly a while ago and he was every bit the charming professional. He will be forever remembered for his comedy partnership with Ronnie Corbett, and his fabulous roles of Fletcher in "Porridge" and Arkwright in "Open All Hours" to name only a few.

Working to the very end, 2005 saw the highly successful return of Mr Barker to our screens in "The Two Ronnies Sketchbook"

To view a fuller account of his work, please go here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0054985/

Ronnie Barker really was one of the British greats, and we will miss him.
