Man, I started learning the piano about 10 years ago now

That makes me feel old.
What I would suggest is to just buy a basic beginners piano book, some might have the letter names under the score or if not I'm pretty sure there are some easy 'teach yourself' books out there. What my sisters teacher did when she was learning was to write the names of the notes in felt tip or something that would wipe off on the keys.
Might take a while but its definitely worth being able to read a score properly, not just play off a list of letter names because you can't get the note length, or style etc from just that. Even if you feel a bit silly doing it there are books out there aimed at younger children which should be easier to understand, or if not (and if you can afford it) find somewhere you can get lessons, even if its a friend who can read music because its a lot easier if you have someone else to help explain it.
Good luck with it all anyway!
