the classic coolangatta gold was filmed at my beach i go to,they made scooby doo in the warehouse behind the street i lived in at the time.....muriels wedding was filmed next to the macdonalds i worked at(when i was 14) the movie blurred(crappest movie of all time) was filmed at my sisters high school.....and the clincher was house of wax......i actually saw chad michael murray and paris hilton in target.lol....i was to scared to go up and ask for an autograph but the girls at target werent lol they had thier camera phones at the ready.

The yet to be released Charlotte's Web movie starring Dakota Fanning was filmed last year around the Melbourne area, including suburbs such as Williamstown and Heidelberg.

I remember they needed extras for a few scenes of the movie at one point, but I was too busy to go...

Mr. 3000 was filmed at Miller Park in Milwaukee,WI which isn't too far from where I live. It stares Bernie Mac. I haven't seen it yet!!

Blow Dry was filmed near me. It has Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy and Josh Hartnett in it.

NED KELLY (with Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom and Naomi Watts) was filmed *ABOUT* where I grew up (North East Victoria), but I think it was actually filmed in and around Ballarat.

Most of the "Shawshank Redemption" was filmed just around the corner in Mansfield, Ohio

I lived near Memphis when they filmed Hustle and Flow so it was in the paper a lot (and I got tired of it).

A scene or two from Elizabethtown was filmed there too, but the film company kept it really quiet so they wouldn't have a lot of Orlando Bloom fans mobbing the set

all in less than 5 miles from each other

We don't get many major films shot around here. So when we do it makes it that much more exciting.

There have probably been films shot around where you are dark_raider, maybe you just didn't notice them or they were a bit out of your way.
