Yes, you missed it. Its a big deal - the closing ceremonies. There are human sacrifices, mass wedding cermonies, the installation of a new dictator for the host nation, and U2 is contractually obligated to play live throughout the final night of the next three summer olympics (a side note: Marvin Hamlish has that duty for the Winter games). Its something to see - you shouldn't miss it. And finally, yes, they just turn off the gas.
