I honestly think like it feels just as bad as losing a member of the family, because in most cases that's what a pet is, a member of the family. I know from experience that you never quite get over a loss like that. It's been about a year and a half since the loss of my cat, and I can still get extremely depressed over it. Not only was he my pet, he was my best friend. I know it feels like you're never going to feel any better, but I want you to listen to what a friend of mine told me when my cat died. She said that an animal can create it's own heaven. It can take all of the good things from it's life, all the things it liked best, and make a world of it. Obviously your hamster loved you dearly, and so I think that where ever it is now, speedy still has you with him. If you only think of the good things about him, and celebrate his life instead of mourn over his death, he will also always be with you. I know it sounds really stupid and religious, believe me, I'm as far from religious as you can get, I just liked the idea of it all. I know you can get through this, and I hope you feel better.
thats touching. it brought a tear ti my eye too.

Keep your chin up MYChEmIcAlRoMaNcEfAn :|

I know it seems bleak at the moment but you have lost a good friend. Give it time and eventually your good memories of your pet will swallow up the sadness and you be able to smile again when you think about him. :|

The average life expectancy of a hamster is between 2 and 3 years. Speedy has probably got a good quality of life :|

Oh that is so sad, I am sorry for your loss. I had a lot of hamsters growing up and I remember how sad it can be to lose them.

Speedy is now in a coffin. He looks so peaceful and cute. It's just like he was sleeping. I'm glad he lived a happy life and I got to enjoy it with him. He's probably in a better place now. Once again, thanks for all of your support! :)
